Project
Acland Burghley School

Location
Burghley Road Camden

Seb was a parent governor at Acland Burghley School for over ten years.

During that period, Seb helped develop feasibilities for different aspects of the building from remodelling the assembly hall, trying to come up with ideas for the vast under croft basement of the building to preserving the fabric of the building. The building was listed Grade II by Historical England in 2016.

The local authority invested in a photo voltaic array consisting of 172 panels As part of the overall energy strategy. This allows for a 38KW system

There is potential for further improvements to the energy performance of the school. All the windows have been upgraded to double glazing. The overall thermal insulation of the building needs to be improved before additional systems such as heat recovery and heat plate exchangers are introduced.

This of course needs to take account of the Grade II listing to ensure the original design and aesthetics are preserved.
